Since 1983 the Emperor Quartet has performed its inimitable brand of chamber music on the Toronto social scene, making it one of the longest established string quartets in Canada. During that time the quartet has provided music for numerous state and corporate functions, concerts, receptions, dinners and countless weddings and private events.

The Emperor Quartet has performed for the monarchs of Great Britain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Jordan as well as Presidents, Prime Ministers and state leaders from Canada, the United States, England, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Italy, Russia and the Philippines.

Their music has been broadcast on the CBC and the Classical 96 radio networks and has been used extensively for television and film scores.

While its repertoire is firmly based in the classical string quartet tradition, the music of the Emperor Quartet ranges from classical and light classical to contemporary with arrangements written exclusively for the quartet.
